Gilbert Baitson LLP, independent valuers and auctioneers have valued the assets at approximately £400 - £600 and the costs of collecting, marketing and selling the assets would likely exceed their value, ultimately not providing any benefit for the company's creditors. As a consequence the assets have been written down to nil for the purposes of the liquidation. 3 Consequently, the company has no assets with any realisable value. The director, has, therefore, deposited personal funds totalling £4,200 into the Redman Nichols Butler Client Account to meet the costs and expenses of liquidating the company. 4 In accordance with the director's instructions dated 19 June 2023, Redman Nichols Butler have received £4,200 inc VATin respect of their firm's time costs incurred in meeting with and advising the directors, preparing the company's list of creditors and financial information. 5 After making provision for the costs and expenses as detailed above, at liquidation, the company has no remaining assets with any realisable value. 6 At cessation, the company's books and records show that the company owes Lisa Hensby at least £7,437 in respect of her directors loan accounts. 7 When a company is placed into a formal insolvency process after 1 December 2020, certain HM Revenue and Customs debts are classed as preferential debts. All other preferential debts must be paid in full before HM Revenue and Customs are paid under its preferential status. The HM Revenue and Customs debts which are classified as preferential include; VAT, PAYE, Employee NIC, CIS and student loan deductions. The HM Revenue and Customs debts which are not classified as preferential debts are Corporation Tax and Employer's NIC. 8 Section 176A of the Insolvency Act 1986 ( the prescribed part) does not apply in this case as there are no secured creditors. 9 The inclusion of creditor balances on the statement of affairs is as per the company's records. The debt due to HM Revenue & Customs is a best estimate. Claims of creditors will be subject to admission by the duly appointed liquidator in the usual way.
